Liz Callahan, Chairman
Liz was born in Buffalo, NY, and is currently working as a digital optimization analyst for Local Edge. After moving back to Buffalo from White Plains, NY; she decided to join the B_Team because she loves Buffalo and wanted to work to better it. Liz wants to see Buffalo become a great city again, and let people be proud of being from Buffalo again!

Ryan Taughrin, Vice-Chair
Ryan grew up in West Seneca and graduated from SUNY Fredonia in 2009 with a BS in Music Business and Journalism and from the University at Buffalo in 2012 with his M.Ed in Higher Education Administration. He is currently working at the University at Buffalo in the Graduate School of Education as the Admissions & Student Services Coordinator. Ryan is recently married, just purchased a home in West Seneca, and wants to make sure that soon-to-be and recent college graduates understand the engagement opportunities available to them by staying in, and getting involved with, all that happens in the city of Buffalo and beyond.

Colleen Bready, Secretary
Colleen Bready grew up in Lancaster, NY. She now resides in Hamburg and works at M&T Bank as a branch manager. She joined the BTeam in 2009 to effectively improve the quality of life in Buffalo, and remind Buffalonians that Buffalo is the place to be. She currently lives in Hamburg with her husband, Sean and daughter Cailin.

Mike VanRemmen, Treasurer
Mike was born in West Seneca and has lived in the Buffalo area his entire life. He attended the University at Buffalo for Business Administration with a concentration in accounting and internal auditing. Since he graduated, he has been working at Freed Maxick & Battaglia CPAs.

Bethany Mazur, Sgt. at Arms
Bethany attended UB, earning a BS in Economics in 2005 and her JD in 2008. After several years practicing law, she left the profession to pursue a career in development. Her current job brought her back to her Alma Mater, where she works in development for the Engineering and Architecture Schools at UB. Bethany grew up in the south towns and now lives in Snyder with her husband Mike and her 2 dogs, Marty and Maeby.

Mike DeMarco, Volunteer Coordinator
Mike graduated from Canisius College in 2005. He has spent the past five years in the banking industry and currently is working for Citigroup as an Operations Manager. His current job responsibility includes the promotion and growth of Operations and Technology in the Buffalo site. Mike has lived all over the Western New York area, from the Southtowns to the Northtowns, to his current residence in the Elmwood Village.

Amanda Schroeder, Emeritus Board Member
Amanda held many leadership positions throughout her education at Villa Maria College of Buffalo and truly believes in the philosophy that when you want something done, you should stand up and make it happen. Having spent time out-of-state pursuing her degree as a Commercial Interior Designer, Amanda has been able to truly recognize the potential that Buffalo holds. Her goal is to see that potential realized in her lifetime.

Nick Guy, Logistics
Nick grew up in West Seneca, and now lives in North Buffalo. He graduated from Geneseo in 2008 with majors in Business Administration and Psychology. Currently, he is the Accessories Editor for the technology website iLounge.com and is involved with event planning in the Buffalo area.

Sarah Sheldon, Communications
Sarah M. Sheldon graduated from St. Bonaventure University’s School of Journalism and Mass Communications in 2008. She has been working with non-profit organizations for over 5 years and currently works as a Communications Specialist for Meritain Health. She is a life-long resident of the City of Buffalo and joined B Team’s board in 2011 to turn her passion for Buffalo into action.

Isaac Williams, Communications
Isaac has been a resident of Western New York all his life. He was born and raised in the northern suburb of Lockport. He currently works as a Online Marketing Manager for Mar-cone Supply. He has a MBA in Business Administration and a Masters Degree in Media Design. He also attended the University at Buffalo.

Johanna Caplan, Board Member
Johanna Caplan is originally from Rochester, NY. She graduated from the University at Buffalo in 2005 with a BA in Psychology and from the University of Pittsburgh in 2007 with a Masters in Social Work. Johanna returned to the Buffalo area in 2007 and has worked as a social worker in Erie and Niagara County since that time. Johanna currently works as a Health Care Integrator at Hillside Children’s Center in Buffalo. She loves the Buffalo area and is committed to helping the city succeed and helping others see the current and future potential that Buffalo holds.

Ryan Daley, Board Member
Ryan has spent the majority of his professional career working at nonprofit organizations in the Greater Buffalo area and is currently the Manager of Community Engagement at Unyts, WNY’s only organ, eye, tissue and community blood center. He graduated from Buffalo State College in 2007 with a B.S. in Social Work and from the University at Buffalo in 2009 with his Masters in Social Work. Ryan is passionate about community involvement and believes that it is our collective responsibility to make Western New York a great place to live, work and play.
He currently lives in West Seneca with his wife, Jessica and their two sons, Gavin and Sawyer.
