Indiegogo Campaign

We have started an Indiegogo campaign looking for $1,500 in funding to ensure we can purchase enough lights, bows, garland, and the other items that it takes to decorate each home for City of Light on December 6. Each dollar raised will go directly into decorating houses for those who may not be able to afford it, while we try to illuminate as many streets as possible in University Heights.

For those that donate at least $30, we have something tangible for you; a City of Light 2014 ornament. The ornament will be available for pick-up at City of Light; if you’re not able to make it, we’ll ship it out to you in time for the holidays. For others who donate, you will know that your support is making a difference in helping make this event possible.

Our community partnership model of volunteering and engagement is unlike other events and experiences you may have heard of in Buffalo. In 2014, we have been able to complete the following projects in collaboration with the University Heights Collaborative & University Heights Tool Library;

  • Helped the WNY Anti-Violence Project, located at Brent House on Main St. get their facilities painted for use.
  • Recruited volunteers for ReTree the District, where 100s of trees will be planted in University Heights.
  • Will be holding an Energy Efficiency workshop for University Heights residents, allowing them to obtain tips and information about saving money on their energy bills.

If you do not have money you can contribute, there are a number of other ways you can help:

  • Spread the word about City of Light and our funding goals to your friends and family.
  • Volunteer! We need people to help decorate houses, run our carnival, craft room, and community dinner. Sign up to volunteer here!
Please don’t hesitate to contact us at info@bteambuffalo.com with any questions! Once again, thank you for your support
